Welcome to my vintage theme summer Barbeque! Inspired by the vintage design melamine plates. Each plate has a different design of a wonderful, memorable barbeque. I thought the plates were absolutely charming when I saw them on Ebay. If you click on the pictures they will enlarge for a better view.
Sources for some of the items. Barbeque grill, World Market. Checkered plates, pitcher, placemats, and glasses from Smith's Grocery store. White melamine chargers and runner from my favorite Pharmacy (they have the greatest items). Flatware Thanksgiving Point Emporium. Please feel free to leave a comment. I will be posting this on Tablescape Thursday at Between Naps on the Porch.
Finally.... It stopped raining long enough for me to do a tabelscape outside. It rained the next day though. The scene for this tablescape is below my kitchen window. As I was setting up, the deer were meandering around and watching what I was doing Or, were they waiting for me to move so they could have a treat of the sweet smelling and tasty roses... They have no fear of me! I have about 50 feet on each of the side yards of my house. I love the East side, which this tablescape is on. In the morning you see the beautiful sun rising and it is not too hot.. In the evening it is so peaceful and shady. Very calming. If you click on the photo's they will enlarge for a closer view of the details.
Mother's Day Tablescape I am thinking about all the Mother's I know and love. Who have done so much for me and all their loved ones. My own Mother who has passed on. She was a wonderful woman, gentle and mild, and self-sacrificing. She had rheumatoid arthritis at a young age, yet she would walk with me for miles in the coldest winter snow to take me to Ballet class or Girl Scouts, or shopping, as she didn't drive. We would read together every night. She would read a page then I would read a page. She would stay by my bedside until I went to sleep. I couldn't sleep very well then as well as now. It was so comforting to have her nearby when I am sure she must have been very tired. Now with many children of my own I understand what a Mother truly is..... . Please feel free to leave a comment. If you click on the photo it will enlarge for a closer look. Thanks.
How fun is this? Cuisine Kathleen is hosting a Girl's Night Out Tablescape Challenge for the 29th of this month. Kind of a fun and exciting theme, don't you think? I had envisioned for a couple of weeks to do a garden theme for the girl's night out. But... sometimes your ideas take a different course. I pulled out one item for my table, then another and another. Everything headed in a different direction. I have done a lot of tables in a more whimsical style, BUT I am not a one trick pony. This tablescape is definately a more modern approach. I really love and appreciate all styles of decorating. I love it all! So here goes... It's all about shoes, handbags, and Bling! This centerpiece was designed around the BEAUTIFUL Chocolate shoes> Made for me by The Truffle Cottage. Not only beautiful but their chocolate creations are sublime in taste.
